Discovery and Research

Stakeholder Interview

The first step in the discovery phase was conducting a stakeholder interview. This interview gave insight into the problem trying to be fixed by this app. The stakeholder wanted this app to feel like Instagram and give the ability to find and discuss reviews quickly.

Field Interviews

Travelers in the Denver International Airport were asked what they would like to see in a Social Media Travel Review App.

Top Three Answers

  • Talk to previous users

  • Follow other users' profiles

  • Easily find things to do

The design needs to be consistent with existing user knowledge. This app should look and feel like current social media apps so that it is easy to use for travelers familiar with social media.

Final Thoughts

Deeper research would have prevented having to change and add the infinite scroll feed. Luckily this is an aspect that was easily changed and added to the homepage and review pages. This also allows easy access to live/up-to-date reviews. I feel like brand development at this late stage was good. Knowledge of what was designed led to easier  branding.
